Day 01 - Cochin |
|
|
A Dreamland representative will
be waiting to receive you at the Kochi
International Airport or, if you are arriving by
train, at the railway station, and will take you
to your hotel. The evening is set aside for the
sunset cruise visit and then overnight stay at the
hotel.

Day 02 -
Kumarakom |

After breakfast proceed to
Kumarakom (80 KM), a small village on the bank of
Vembanad Lake. You visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary,
which hosts a cacophony of migratory birds
arriving from and leaving to different parts of
the world and a boat ride in the winding and
serenely calm and beautiful backwaters of Kerala,
God’s own country. Late evening, you head to the
hotel for dinner, rest and overnight stay.

Day 03-
Thekkady |
|
Breakfast and then off to
Thekkady ( Periyar National Park ), a pristine and
serenely beauteous wildlife preserve, famous for
its Asian Elephants. After check in and
relaxation, the evening is set aside for a visit
to the spice plantation and shopping in the spice
market. In anticipation of the next day’s
rendezvous with the pachyderms, rest and overnight
stay at the hotel.

Day 04 - Munnar |
|
Post breakfast, don your nature
exploration attire and join the boat ride on the
Periyar Lake and watch the animal kingdom in all
its glory, deep in the forest with herds of wild
elephants and deer jostling and frolicking on the
edges of the lake. Then it’s on to Munnar (110
KM), check into the hotel, take a short rest and
in the evening you head out to the local market
for some shopping. Over night stay at the hotel.

Day 05 - Munnar |
|
After breakfast enjoy a full
day taking in the natural beauty and scenic spots
in and around the enchanting hill resort town of
Munnar. Moving through rolling tea and cardamom
plantations, you will be visiting Mattupetty Dam,
Rajamalai, Echo Point, Kundale Dam and Golf Club,
Top Station - the highest point in Munnar. Finally
back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 06 - Madurai |
|
Post breakfast, we head to the
ancient and historic temple town of Madurai (162
Km). Check into hotel, freshen up and then it’s
off to the breath-taking Sree Meenakshi Temple in
the heart of the old town with gopurams covered
from top to bottom in a breath taking profusion of
multi-colored depictions of Gods, Goddesses,
animals and mythical figures in the pantheons of
the Hindu religion. Then we head back to hotel for
rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 07 - Madurai - Rameswaram |
|
In the morning, post breakfast
we drive to Rameswaram (173 Km), one of the
holiest towns in India and enriched with a rich
tradition and history. A stopover at the
Ramanathaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama with
the longest temple corridor in India. Other
notable stops along the way include Bathing Ghar,
Kurusadai Island and Kothandaramar Temple. Then we
head back to the hotel, rest, dinner and overnight
stay, in preparation for the drive to Kanyakumari.

Day 08 - Madurai - Kanyakumari |
|
After breakfast proceed to Kanyakumari, scene of the
confluence of three major water bodies - the Indian Ocean,
Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Check into the hotel
and overnight stay in anticipation of the wonders of
Kanyakumari.

Day 09 - Kanyakumari |
|
Special mention is needed here of the
fact that Kanyakumari is the only place in India where you
can see both sunrise and sunset in all it’s glory. Post
breakfast we head out on an exploration of the beauty and
history of Kanyakumari, including the Vivekananda Rock
Memorial. This historical monument projects out of the sea
on a rocky island about 200 meters from the shoreline.
Dusk finds you enjoying the magnificent sunset and ten
it’s back to the hotel for some much needed rest and
overnight stay.

Day 10 - Trivandrum |
|
After breakfast, you check out
of the hotel and proceed to either the Airport or
the Railway station for your onward journey, with
ten days’ worth of beauty, the sights and sounds
and smell of Kerala comfortably ensconced in both
your cameras and memories. |
